AGO GmbH Energie + Anlagen
AGO GmbH Energie + Anlagen has its headquarters since 1980 in Kulmbach. Our company specializes in innovative and efficient power supply systems for industry and local communities.
We have around 180 employees and offer young people interesting trainee possibilities in various technical professions. AGO GmbH Energie + Anlagen has been part of RheinEnergie in Cologne since 01.07.2020. Apart from the design of facilities, we offer our clients consultancy and the corresponding service. Additionally, AGO develops and manufactures customized absorption chillers and industrial high temperature heat pumps. Hence the name “AGO” has long become a synonym for efficiency, security and technological competence when it comes to power supply systems such as combined heat and power plants, biomass heating plants, combined cooling, heat and power plants as well as the construction of heating, cooling and ventilation systems.
Top priority at AGO has always been our clients‘ satisfaction. For us to achieve this we combine trendsetting technologies with proven quality, expertise and individuality.
Since 2010, AGO has been developing and manufacturing customized ammonia/water absorption chillers. Based on its expertise and experience with ammonia-water solutions as working media in thermodynamic cycles, AGO developed the Caldora heat pump, a compression heat pump with a solution circuit. The cycle process, known as the Osenbrück process, was further developed to achieve high efficiency and generate temperatures of up to 160 °C. Steam generation is also possible with this heat pump.
Due to its process design, this heat pump technology offers significant advantages, especially in applications with a large temperature spread on the heat source or heat sink side. In such cases, COPs (coefficients of performance) are achieved that significantly exceed those of other heat pump technologies.
AGO offers the Caldora heat pump as a customized solution with various cycle process variants and compressor types in the power range from 1 MW to 10 MW. Only standard components from high-quality European suppliers are used. The first three reference projects confirm the high efficiency and demonstrate that very high temperatures can be achieved using ammonia as a refrigerant in a heat pump.
